Note: In the case of disruptive behavior, if a player is causing problems, any admin is able to create a rule on the spot to stop the disruptive behavior from happening again. Sometimes we don't know when something should be against the rules until we see it happen.

Claim Sniping
- Definition: Claim Sniping refers to the act of claiming land or structures that another player has either not yet claimed or has just unclaimed, with the intent to take possession of it for oneself, particularly when it's known or reasonably assumed that the original player intended to claim or reclaim it.
- Examples:
- Claiming an unclaimed base: Intentionally claiming an area where another player has built but not yet claimed, knowing it's their intended base.
- Waiting to claim: Watching for when a player unclaims their land and then immediately claiming it before the original owner can.
- Punishments:

- Note: Any claims taken through sniping will be undone, and the land will be returned to its rightful owner or left unclaimed if the original claim was not intended to be permanent. Continuous or egregious claim sniping may result in further disciplinary action at the discretion of server administrators.
Malicious Claiming
- Definition: Claiming land around another player’s claim for malicious purposes, such as to block expansion, trap, or claim ban the player. If your claim around another's has no substantial build or purpose, you must remove it upon a reasonable request from the original claim owner. Whoever was within a ±5 chunk buffer of the original claim first has more say in claim disputes. This rule emphasizes respect for established claims and prevents the use of claims as a tool for harassment or personal vendettas.
- Examples:
- Claiming all the land around another player's claim, preventing them from expanding their base.
- Using claims to block pathways or access to another player's claim with no legitimate reason.
- Claiming just to spite someone or because of a personal disagreement, even if there was no prior issue with the claim placement.
- Punishments:
- 1st Offense: Warning
- 2nd Offense: 1 Day Ban
- 3rd+ Offense: ±1 Week Ban
- Note: This rule is to prevent the misuse of the claim system to harass or inconvenience other players. Compliance with removal requests should be based on the absence of significant structures or use within your claim.
- Additional Context:
- This rule is rooted in common sense and respect for others' gameplay. It’s not intended to be used as leverage in personal disputes or as a way to retaliate against another player.
- The 5 chunk buffer rule is meant to clarify that the player who first established or had intentions to expand in an area around their claim has priority. This prevents players from claiming land just to deny others the space they've already been using or planning to use.
- Claims should not be used as a weapon in social conflicts or as an excuse to engage in petty behavior. This rule is here because, while most would consider such actions inappropriate, some might need it explicitly stated to avoid such conduct.
Inactive Claiming of Structures
- Definition: Claiming naturally occurring structures like villages, strongholds, water temples (ocean monuments), and trial chambers without any intention or action to use or interact with them within a reasonable timeframe. Players must remove claims if they do not plan to engage with these structures. Do not thwart other players from using these structures found in the wilderness unless you are actively engaging with them. Claims should not be used as a way to gatekeep others.
- Examples:
- Claiming a village and not building or interacting with it for several days or weeks.
- Securing a stronghold for personal use but never entering it or using its resources.
- Claiming a trial chamber or water temple just to prevent access by others without utilizing it.
- Claiming around these structures to limit or control access to them by other players, except if you are actively using the structure for exploration, building, or gameplay purposes.
- Note: "Reasonable time" is considered to be within one week of claiming unless there is clear progress or interaction with the structure. If you need more time, communicate with server staff to avoid penalties. Blocking access or use of these structures by others is against this rule, except in cases where you are actively engaging with the structure.
- 1st Offense: Warning
- 2nd Offense: 1 Day Ban
- 3rd+ Offense: ±1 Week Ban
Additional Context:
- This rule ensures that these unique and often resource-rich structures remain accessible for exploration, building, or other gameplay activities for all players, while still allowing for personal use when actively interacting with the structure.
- Claims on these structures should reflect active engagement, like exploring, building, or using resources within them.
- Preventing others from accessing or using these structures goes against the spirit of community and fair play on the server, except where there is ongoing, visible interaction with the claimed structure.
